We used the StarForce solution to protect one of our best games - DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark. This is a PC game featuring the Russian Ka-50 attack helicopter and it is the first title in a new Eagle Dynamics and The Fighter Collection simulation series: Digital Combat Simulator (DCS). Traditionally, Eagle Dynamics offers gamers the best simulators of military equipment made with the highest degree of detail and realism. That is why our games have become very popular among virtual pilots all around the world.
But the flip side of the coin is a serious threat of piracy, which we regard to be one of the key problems of the PC platform. For that reason, most of our games are copy protected by StarForce, the most reliable protection system against copying and hacking. We are offering excellent gameplay in terms of "as close as possible to the real thing", and we need to think about the convenience of our users. Modern protection methods are not always convenient for the user, and we decided to choose the StarForce DiscFree technology to meet the highest quality standards for our latest simulation product.
When first launching DCS: Ka-50 Black Shark, the gamer has an opportunity to choose whether to use an optical disc each time he/she starts the game, or avoid the constant hassle with the disc altogether by activating the game via the Internet. In the latter case, the best level of protection is achieved and there is no need to install a protection driver on PC to protect against optical media emulation. This option is by far the most convenient for the player.
It was very nice to read the positive feedback about the new protection technology on our forums, and we are pleased that the users liked these innovations. I would like to express my appreciation to StarForce Technologies for the opportunity to use their latest protection technologies, which do not restrict the users and at the same time reliably protect our intellectual property. Eagle Dynamics plans to continue using StarForce DiscFree technology in its products.
