Another update available for all disc versions of the protection
The update package is available for all StarForce solutions to protect CD/DVD-ROM discs (StarForce Professional for CD/DVD-ROM and StarForce Basic for CD-ROM discs) as well as StarForce CD-R to protect pre-release and demo versions of software distributed on CD-Rs.
The new features include primarily options to increase the protection usability for business software products distributed on optical media, but can be effectively applied to the applications of the entertainment segment as well.
The updates include the disc key expiration feature to use for demo and other time-limited versions of the protected application, and an option to automatically bind the protected product to the end user’s computer once the licensed disc is successfully identified. With this feature set, the end user is no longer obliged to always have the licensed disc in the drive at the application’s startup. Both features are extremely flexible and can be easily customized in accordance with licensing requirements to the product.
The hardware binding mechanism has been improved in the new version of StarForce to increase the protection strength and reliability.
Additionally, the protection GUI in all StarForce solutions (including both disc and disc-less versions), supports the Narrator feature, a text-to-speech utility for users who are blind or who have low vision.
To have the new protection features enabled for your software product, contact your local StarForce representative before proceeding with file encryption.
