StarForce protection prevents leakage and illegal distribution for PDF documents. The protection system uses the following tools: file conversion to a protected format; use of a special viewer program to access protected documents; providing of keys or serial numbers which contain the conditions of use; and a key binding to the hardware and software configuration of the user’s device. StarForce Reader is a viewer program to open files on computers under Windows and from now on Android mobile devices.

One of the key benefits of StarForce Reader for Android is its universal nature: this application can open both usual (unprotected) PDF files and protected documents and eBooks. Moreover, it shows recently viewed files and remembers the position and scale of the document when the last viewing session ended.

According to the StarForce roadmap an application to access protected files on iOS devices will appear in the first half of 2016.
